Update Project for Guía de Hoy's Application Ecosystem

About the client

Guía de Hoy is a platform for publishing and promoting events, as well as selling event tickets in Culiacán. It has a well-established application ecosystem that includes a central API, a marketing website, and a content management backoffice.

Challenge

The main challenge was to update and redesign the application ecosystem to improve functionality, user experience, and overall performance. The goal was to implement an incremental workflow system that would allow for the efficient definition and achievement of short-term objectives.

Achievements

Website Update

Complete redesign and update to Next.js v14.
Improvements to the navigation menu, including new sections like "About Us," "Blog," and "FAQs."
Optimization of the search box with advanced filters by location, city, event, dates, prices, categories, and tags.
Enhancements in website performance, implementing new categories and subcategories.
Re-implementation of the events page with improved structured data for SEO.
Creation of a new section for "Partners and Sponsors."

Backoffice Update

Update to Next.js v14 and improvements to existing modules.
New modules to update the homepage, nurture the blog, FAQs, and the partners and sponsors section.
Support for subcategories and event management found by web scrapers.

API Update

Added support to enhance search and new modules for blog content, FAQs, partners, and sponsors.
Improvements in event and user management, including new features like wishlist, event reports, and user reviews.

Web Scraper Development

Creation of web scraping scripts to extract event information from various pages, integrating it into the backoffice for management.

Results

The update of the application ecosystem significantly improved user experience, performance, and platform stability. The redesign and implemented improvements optimized Core Web Vitals metrics and strengthened Guía de Hoy's position as a leading platform for event publishing and ticket sales in Culiacán.
