When we analyzed the technological situation of Citicinemas, we defined as a priority redesigning the website and giving support to mobile devices, we also developed a basic application for iOS and Android.

Having a robust online shopping system, we began to explore ideas and developed the Citibenefits system. This with the aim of increasing customer loyalty and promoting recurring purchase.

In order to reduce operating costs and improve transaction stability we decided to migrate the payment gateway to a new provider, this allowed us to have greater control and detection of fraud.

Maxilana is a Mexico-based pawn shop, personal loan, and product auction. It has 74 branches in the cities of Culiacán, Mazatlán, Hermosillo, Mexicali, Tijuana and Guadalajara.

Maxilana had a web page that had all the information of its inventories by branch. However, finding the products was difficult. Navigating and finding the actions the user wanted to find was difficult. These factors limited the digital growth of the company.

How could they take advantage of all the infrastructure that they already had built? How could they offer an Omnichannel experience and take advantage of all their branches? How to offer a satisfactory user experience? How to put all their inventory of all their branches to the public?

One of the main challenges of this project is being able to offer a unique experience of selling used auction items. Only some of the products in their inventory are eligible for direct sale online; that is why it is important to be able to show the user the garments that are available locally by adding the products that can be sold online.
In order to educate the user that there are two types of inventories, two indicators were designed that allow us to know if the product is for "home delivery" or "pick up at a branch."

In order to attract more prospects for the personal loan service, we created a calculator that helps clients know how much they have to pay and how often.

In addition, when requesting the loan, we gave the user the option for Maxilana to communicate with them or for them as users to directly forward a Whatsapp message to Maxilana to get in touch.

Analyzing all the problems of the old site we discovered that Maxilana had a very good information infrastructure, this allowed us to propose solutions that increased the probability of it being successful. We facilitated the accessibility of the user to request information; added calls to action for customers to communicate on WhatsApp, created an in-store only inventory shopping experience by adding maps to product pages, and made online payments so much easier. All of this using cutting-edge technologies such as Next Js that allows us to offer a very fluid experience due to page load times.

We trust that this project will be a watershed for Maxilana that will lead them to be one of the best pawn shops in Mexico.

Its founder approached us with an initial idea of ​​how we could use existing technologies to create a community protected from extortionists, fraud, and unwanted phone telemarketing.

Based on the initial specifications, we developed a set of apps for iOS and Android, making use of native functions of both systems, we managed to create an address book that is made up of a black list and a white list for the incoming calls, giving the user the power to decide who they want to contact and who they don’t.

We also developed a platform that allows administrators to keep track of numbers reported for manual review, as well as track user growth and various metrics. All this interconnected through a core API that is responsible for handling communication between applications, storing and querying data and notifying users if necessary.

To strengthen their position as one of the main airlines in Mexico, our proposal was to clearly improve the user’s experience with the aim of increasing the sale of flights from the mobile app, which brought with it challenges, some of which we describe below:

- Designing a flow for users that would allow them to know at all times in which part of the sales process they were.
- Designing and standardizing the visual proposal to give cohesion and meaning to the information presented.
- Developing the proposal into a usable prototype with information as real as possible.

One of the main aims of our proposal was to reorganize the user flow in the purchase process. This allowed us to define early what information would be displayed and laid the foundation for the visual proposal.

We took the current purchase flow as a basis and reorganized it in such a way that it would allow the user to know at all times what stage of the process they were in.

- Search engine and flight calendar
- Selection of flights and extras

We proposed a calendar design that helps the user reducing the uncertainty of knowing the cost of a flight, when selecting the departure and return dates. At a glance we managed to give the dates with available flights and their cheapest prices.In the same screen we gave clarity in the selection of dates using colors and contrasts for round trip flights, which would be present from this step onwards.

One of the most important screens is the selection of flight schedules and packages, the main challenge was to allow the user to explore in a clear way and on a single screen a large amount of information related to flight results, with their dates and details.

To achieve this, we defined the arrangement of elements that the layout would have to show all the information in a clear and convenient way for the user.

1. The flight results would be arranged from top to bottom, showing outbound flights first and return flights second, neatly divided.
1. We show at first glance the most relevant information for each flight, adding actions to see more details.
1. We designed package and pricing information to navigate horizontally, giving context to which flight is explored and the features of each package.

This way we managed to make a very condensed screen of information understandable and meaningful to the user.

In the seat selection screen, our goal was to design the components in such a way that the user was aware of the seat they were selecting, for which passenger and on which flight they were on. This design allowed the user to modify any previous selection if they wished.

Due to limitations with the delivery time, the development of the prototype was carried out almost at the same time as the design of the interface. We took advantage of this very tight workflow so that the team gave internal feedback under very short stages and quick decisions were made, this allowed timely changes to be made to some components. However, there were decisions that were made before starting the project and that guided the development from start to finish:

- Develop the prototype in React Native under Expo
- Using MirageJS to develop a fake API to simulate calls to a server.

##### React Native + Expo

Using <a className="c-link c-link--inline" href="https://reactnative.dev/" target="_blank">React Native</a> allowed us ultra fast and asynchronous development, each team member knew which components to build and we found a way to do it at the same time. Being a high-fidelity prototype, we were able to skip certain native features and focus solely on the user experience.

##### Data and API in real time

If we wanted to propose a real experience, it was necessary that the data that was shown in the prototype did not seem fictitious. This was one of the reasons we chose to use MirageJS to simulate most of the information that the app would display. Some data that was simulated is the following:

The schedule of flights and prices is generated when building the app taking into account the current date. The results of flights with their schedules and details are generated 100% "at the moment" as well as the seats with their numbering and categorization.

This library allowed us to build an API without writing backend code or a complete database, this saved us days of work and opened the doors for a more dynamic workflow.

By carrying out this project, we were able to demonstrate the viability and efficiency of our way of working on custom development projects.

We obtained a functional prototype in 4 weeks that can be installed on any iOS or Android device, and that can be used to demonstrate to shareholders or managers the areas of opportunity that the prototype can solve and convince them to invest in the project.

They differentiate themselves by being the first group to make a mobile App available to select and schedule any of their services.

The founders came to us with a clear vision for a new company dedicated to personal care and wellness.

Being their first technology-based company, we were able to guide them through all the necessary steps to establish a technology company as well as our professional recommendations and ongoing advice.

Mixing the vision of the clients with our recommendations, we were able to help them throughout the necessary journey to launch the digital product to the public.
What did we do?

- We participated in account management for the company’s nomenclature and corporate image design;
- We recorded their credentials in order to publish the App on Google Play and the App Store and made a proposal for a suitable technology stack to use for the development of the App;
- We developed the set of software needed to expedite early release;
- We carried out an application deployment in a test environment and a final one for production;
- We took care of quality control, testing and applying of continuous improvements;
- Finally, we took care of launching the App on the respective digital stores.

The deliverables are divided into the following:

- API (Node, TypeScript, Express and Sequelize)
- BackOffice (Next.js, TypeScript, Redux)
- Client App for iOS and Android (React Native)
- Service provider app for iOS and Android (React Native)
